Meet Liz

Certified Peristeam Facilitator & Menstrual Coach

Welcome to Perfect Period. I’m so glad you’re here. I created this space to help address the specific needs of women & girls, & those who have a womb. In our culture so much knowledge of our ancestors has been suppressed or lost, women are not taught about their bodies, their anatomy or their periods. There is no place for this biological phenomenon to exist, even though it affects 50% of the population every month. We are taught to hide our blood, that it is shameful, dirty, the curse. This narrative has kept us in the dark and dependent on pharmaceuticals to make it through our days.

I created Perfect Period to offer a way to restore connection to the body through the practice of vaginal steaming,  and to provide a tool that allows individuals to take control over their own health. Steaming offers a holistic approach to caring for our wombs that can be done from the comfort of your own home, it brings a reawakening to significance of the womb as the birthplace of humanity, and it provides a ritual to honor the womb space. It is my pleasure to educate on womb wellness through my Magical Menstruation coaching program, with the ultimate goal of getting rid of the notion that period pain is normal, to bring Vaginal steaming back as a form of care that every woman has at her disposal, and to provide women the support and care that can bring about healing in their bodi

What is Vaginal Steaming?

Vaginal steaming is an ancient traditional practice of sitting over a pot of warm water and herbs, allowing the steam to enter the vaginal canal, the cervix and the uterus to eliminate old residue and support healthy menstruation. This practice is found currently or historically on every continent. It was historically used by midwives, who at the time were the traditional caretakers of women. Universally it was used to support women postpartum, as well as to address a host of other gynecological concerns, such as infections or menstrual irregularities.  This practice was lost when laws were passed that required caretakers to be licensed. As women were not allowed to  go to medical school or practice medicine at this time, they were excluded from participation in the founding of gynecology, as result many of their traditional practices were lost or faded into obscurity. Vaginal steaming is now making a come back as women reclaim this powerful and ancient  practice. Users have reported that vaginal steaming can help regulate menstrual cycles, reduce menstrual pain, and alleviate symptoms of conditions like PCOS, endometriosis and fibroids. Advocates attribute their reduced risk of infection and ability to maintain vaginal health to their practice of  vaginal steaming, while other users have reported that it has helped enhance their fertility.
